Background
First Train was born in 2007, seven years after the idea was conceived.
Owner and Director of First Train, Christopher Brooks wanted a business dedicated to developing people in the learning style that best suits their needs; whether it be visual, kinaesthetic, auditory or olfactory. First Train designs courses that stimulate all of these senses (we're still working on the taste one though) and supports and encourages people in every aspect of their personal development.
The idea for the name "First Train" came to Chris as he was walking down to Central Station in Sydney early one morning. A fan of the double entendre and British 70's comedy, he realised what fun could be had with the name.
With this in mind, he commissioned his graphic designer to come up with a design for the company name that combined the focused business-minded side of his personality with the fun and easy going side of his nature.
Ever since Chris can remember, his school House colour was blue but he always wanted to be in the House represented by the colour red. With those two colours in mind, the split in two distinct sides of his personality and the idea of Thomas the Tank Engine trying to fit in somewhere, his designer was in for a challenge.
Thankfully, he prevailed and came up with the design you can see here. The lines above and below are inspired by the railway tracks and the words can be seen to be the engine and carriages.
We hope this has given you some insight into First Train and encourages you to jump on board. If you wish to have an informal talk to Chris about his experiences of setting up a business in Australia, then please feel free to contact him on 0405 784071 or e-mail him at chris@firsttrain.com.au
